Prior to studying Financial Planning, I served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police officer for 5 years. I had the opportunity to travel, experience other cultures, and do something bigger than myself. I was able to experience other cultures and travel to places like; South Korea, Savannah, GA, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

Some of my top accomplishments include:

  • A recipient of the Commandant’s 100, where the Military Police Corps Commandant choose 100 of the top Military Police to receive this award
  • 1st in the Military Police Warfighter competition

After my time in the service I struggled with filling the void of doing something bigger than myself. As I began taking courses Financial Planning topics just came to me very easily. I began my internship at Northwestern Mutual in 2014, and quickly fell in love with what I do. As an intern I finished 3rd in the Greater New York Group for Financial Representative Interns and was elected to be the College Unit Captain.

After my internship I began building my own practice focusing on providing a high level of service and education. As my business grew I needed to maintain that level of service within the Anderson & Associates Wealth Management Group team. Our core values aligned focusing around integrity, family, service to others, and education. Additionally, the structure of having multiple advisors bringing different viewpoints of planning to the table is immeasurable to the long-term success of our Clients because financial planning isn’t a panacea.

My wife, Melissa and our two children, Grant and Stella live in Brockport. In our free time we enjoy hiking, dancing to Grant’s new favorite song, spending time with family and friends, and finding new ice cream places to eat. Some of our family traditions are going to the Long Acre Farm corn maze, visiting the Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, and going to the Erie County fair with friends.

I am a St. John Fisher College graduate with a B.S. in Finance, and a focus in Financial Planning. I am currently pursuing a graduate certificate in Financial Psychology and Behavioral Finance through Creighton University. I enjoy studying and learning all facets of financial planning, but most enjoy how people view money and decisions around money. I strive to always better myself as a husband, father, friend, and financial planner.
